Treat Gum Diseases In Time & Save Your Mobile Teeth

Service Overview

Did you know that cavities can be prevented? How you may wonder. In plain language, cavities are the surfaces of the teeth eaten up or destroyed by the bacteria’s in the mouth. Initially, they may be presented with a white flaky discolouration over the tooth and slowly it spreads deeper turning black- brown. Once it reaches the 2nd layer of the teeth which is called dentin, pain and sensitivity may start. Intolerable pain and discomfort are usually due to the infection reaching the pulp of the teeth.

It is always advisable that you visit us at least once in 6 months so that the progress of the cavity can be stopped if started. Fillings play an important role in that.
Generally, you will be given instructions so as to make optimum use of your teeth. Additional care would be required if there are any habits like pan, supari, tobacco etc or para-functional habits like bruxism etc. If you have pain, swelling, or a pulp infection due to caries / caries near the pulp, you may need:

Indirect or Direct Pulp Capping:
This pulping is done when the decay is very close to the pulp but does not reach the pulp. Also, the pulp remains intact and is not exposed even after the dentist has completely removed the caries.

Partial Pulpectomy / Pulpotomy:
Pulp therapy is performed when the decay has reached the pulp. In addition, the pulp is intact and partially damaged. Your dentist here makes his or her own decision on whether to remove both the damaged pulp and the intact pulp or to remove only the damaged pulp.

Complete Pulpectomy / RCT:
This pulp therapy treatment is performed when caries or damage has reached the pulp. Also, the pulp is partially or completely damaged. The dentist removes the damaged pulp from the pulp chamber and root. The roots are then filled immediately or after a multi-sided dressing is soaked in the medicine (usually with gutta percha). Treatment is called complete pulpectomy or root canal therapy.

Can Root Canal Treatment take Multiple Visits?
Neglecting the techniques and dressings prescribed during the dressing phase can make it difficult to fill the root canal. Meeting schedules must be adhered to, especially at this stage. After that, your teeth will be restored with or without posts, brackets, etc., depending on the dentist’s decision. As a result of this treatment you can sometimes feel the pain again and in such cases your tooth may require repeating the whole procedure around cutting or surgery, the infection should be removed. usually by removing the root tip of your tooth. Surgical treatment can be performed with or without tooth removal. The success rate of pulp treatment is about 90%, and in rare cases it may be necessary to remove the tooth.

Patient Maintenance after Root canal Treatment in One Day-

To keep the restoration in its best shape, it should be professionally cleaned twice a year. The reason for frequent brushing is to remove food debris that accumulates in the microscopic spaces on the surface of the teeth. You must strictly follow all instructions and inform your dentist of any unforeseen occurrences at your next visit. This allows the dentist to guide you and quickly take the appropriate corrective action.

Your experience will depend on many factors, only a few of which you and your dentist have control over. Certain factors, such as grinding and/or clenching of teeth, can play an important role in the longevity of implants and restorations. The use of polymers prolongs the life of bone, natural teeth and implants under restoration compared to ceramic or zirconia. Your follow-up instructions and appropriate follow-up visits will also improve the success and longevity of your implants and restorations.

Depending upon your case the doctor may decide to clean the cavity and fill it with different types of tooth colour material. They may be light-cured composite or fluoride-releasing cement. If the cavities are large then the doctor may advise a lab fabricated filling called as an inlay.

In certain cases where the cavity is deep or in cases where the pulp of teeth has been affected or in cases of cosmetic correction of the teeth the doctor may advise for root canal treatment or pulp therapy. Pulp therapy involves cleaning the pulp chamber of all the bacteria and then filling the chamber with an inert material. After the pulp chamber has been cleared the remaining crown of the tooth needs to brace or protected with a cap.

In most cases, filling and/or root canal treatment can be finished on the same day along with capping.

Tooth decay that occurs when the minerals your teeth, namely the calcium and phosphorous, are chemically dissolved by oral bacteria. You might not know it, but bacteria is everywhere — including in your mouth. These bacteria are no cause for alarm, they don’t pose any serious health risks unless you have immune system deficiency. Fillings are one of the most common treatments for cavities. In this procedure, the dentist will remove infected material from your tooth, clean the remaining tooth thoroughly, and then fill the cavity with a substance that will strengthen your tooth and protect it from further decay. Common filling materials include composite resins, dental crowns, and gold fillings.

Root canal treatment for tooth cavity: If you have advanced decay in your root (the portion of your tooth that extends below the gum line), your dentist may recommend a root canal. In this procedure, your dentist will remove the infected tissue and replace it with a filling. These small damages to teeth are very common in this fast pace world. If your tooth is broken, chipped, or fractured, see your dentist as soon as possible. Otherwise, your tooth could be damaged further or become infected, possibly causing you to end up losing the tooth. Cracked teeth are extremely painful and may cause an infection, if not treated immediately. A cracked tooth may or may not show any signs of a breakage on the outside. It could be on the inside of the tooth that is not visible from outside.
